I am rounding the corner on my 3rd semester of grad school, meaning I have only one semester left before I graduate and go out in the world FOR GOOD. My MFA thesis show will be the first of the season in March, and I couldn’t be more excited about ideas of what I want to show in it. I am working on a few massive paintings that I am really excited about. I’ll post some long delayed work...

I don't like when people gripe about the general...
Yes, Aaliyah died today. Yes, most the the countries media devoted some time to that fact. But its a little dickish that some folks choose to be all disgusted that people miss her, or Amy Winehouse, or Michael Jackson.
These people contributed something to the fabric of our culture. We should all be so lucky to do something positive in our lives that will be missed by so many.

I know this girl in my grad program who when she gets a little tispy, will try to start “deep” or “controversial” conversations about issues concerning my race, or sexual orientation. She will point out a comment I made on facebook about a girl wearing boat shoes and how I had something to say about boat shoes having a particular connotation where im from in the south....
