Damien Hirst Faces Eight New Claims of Plagiarism - “Charles Thomson, the artist and co-founder of the Stuckists, a group campaigning for traditional artistry, collated the number of plagiarism claims relating to Hirst’s work for the latest issue of the Jackdaw art magazine.” A closer look at specific examples from my favorite art collective.
I have always maintained that Hirst is the Emperor’s New Clothes of the Art world…
Ugh, Stuckist artists are such asshats. They are essentially whiny mediocre (at best) artists who are butthurt over the acceptance of conceptualism and appropriation. Half of their claims about Hirst are over connects that Hirst himself who have no problem acknowledging.
Its funny, the cry out that Hirst is plagiarizing, when the guy the are featuring on their site basically makes crappy clumsy Egon Schiele rip-offs.
